I looked across the table and saw him.  Who was he?  I knew everybody, but I didn’t know him.  We met eyes, he dropped his gaze.   I went back to my doodling.   My cocky 8th grade head was too interested in my bobbley eyed smiley face than to make introductions.  Somehow from that moment on though, Kaephas was embedded into my life story.  I don’t really know how it evolved from that first awkward moment in 8th grade, but it did.  Both Mike and I have had the privilege of calling Kaephas our friend for well over half our lives.

One day Kaephas brought Latara to a party.  Who was she?  I knew everybody in the room, but not her.  Repeat story above, but an awkward twenty something version.  We haven’t known her half of our lives yet, but she is already so important to us!  Kaephas and Latara have grown in their friendship and love.  We were so excited to share in this moment of life with them as all our stories are continually bound together.

I LOVE this picutre!

I think Kaeph watched Zoolander to perfect his “sexy look”.  It worked.  Hot Kaeph, so hot.

Talk about a BEAUTIFUL bride.  Look at those eyes!

Ok, so maybe this was the real Zoolander look.  I actually think either Mike or Kaeph said that they needed a few “blue steel” looks.

Kaeph and Latara, we love you so much!!!  Thank you for so much for letting us capture your day!

There will be more to come, but I wanted to put up a quick blog from this weekend.  Friday was Adam and Kristina’s wedding, and it was an absolute joy for Mike and I to be apart of.  Here’s a picture of the two love birds, and I’ll put up more soon.

So, I’ve been asked in person, in texts, in emails, and possibly moris code (was that the random banging I heard last night?) if I am still alive and could I update my blog?  My friends, I have heard your pleadful cries.  I will be absent no longer (at least for today).

Meet Adam and Kristina.  He’s from the Northwest, she’s from Texas.  Proof that love is cross cultural (I kid, I kid).  You only need to spend five minutes with these two to know they love each other.  That’s how it should be.  And it’s beautiful.  One of my most favorite things in a picture is capturing joy, and I never struggled to catch that in our engagement shoot.  Their love pours over with smiles, laughter and depth.

Congratulations you two!  I cannot wait for your wedding!

Omit “Spring” for “Fall” and the song totally had it right.  Fall IS here.   The skies ARE blue.  And yes, the birds all sang, as if they knew.  It was a beautiful day, and it’s only challenger was the beauty of Gina.  And boy did she have her “A” Game on.  You could see it in Chris’ eyes.  He knew she took the cake.

There was much debate as to who should hold the bouquet…Gina…Chris…Mike…Personally, I think Chris looks pretty good with them!

Chris & Gina, it was such a pleasure to be a part of your wedding!  Mike and I truly enjoyed your lively and fun loving spirits.  We wish you all the best in your new lives together!

Stunningly beautiful, Ashley & Peter elegantly turned a day in Seattle into one of my favorite shoots.  They had elected to do a “Day After” shoot, where we could leisurely drive through a setting of their choice (today’s being Seattle) and take as many pictures as we could.

Congratulations you two.  I wish you all the happiness and love in your lives together!

Rain.  That was the forecast.  Nothing but rain.  I’m sure you’re thinking, “isn’t she in Seattle?”, but contrary to public opinion, it doesn’t rain all the time here.  Just on the days I have outdoor shoots.  :o)

I prayed all weekend, as I’m sure Ashley and Peter did, that we’d have a few minutes of sun to get some shots.  You ask for an inch, and God gives you a yard!  It was absolutely beautiful!  And as Peter and Ashley are quiet handsome themselves, it made for a wonderful day of photography.  Here’s one of my fav’s from the day.  Check back on Friday for the rest…
