I can’t wait to get the full post of handsome little Elijah up for you, but I thought I’d better give you a preview.  This afternoon was a fun day full of newborns photos and big sisters photos.  I only got peed on once (thank you to every newborn client I’ve had to prepare me for motherhood!) and got to dance with a two year old.  It doesn’t get better than this.  Check in soon for more of Eli and his big sis Grace.

Her older sister looked at me with excited eyes and exclaimed “Amba!  Baby Iza-bella inside!”.  We had just finished getting a few absolutely adorable pictures of Abigail when she heard her sister had woken up.  We quickly ascended the stairs to where Abigail’s 7 day old sister awaited her first photography shoot.   There is nothing more endearing (and terrifying!) as a new big sister.  They are full of love and curiosity as they cuddle their infant sibling.  It’s beautiful, until they go for the eyes.  They always go for the eyes.  But as far as big sisters go, Abigail is going to be a great one.  And as far as little sisters go, Isabella is beautifully serene.

Isabella was a wonderful model!

This is one of my favorites!

I LOVE how Abigail is looking at Isabella’s hand

The big sister

Thank you Burlando’s for the joy of working with your family, and specifically your girls.  They are such a joy!  Congratulations on your newest addition.  She is absolutely wonderful!

I hope you all had a fabulous Easter!  Ours was wonderful.  We had a great time being with family and celebrating and relaxing.

Many of you have asked about it, and in honor of Easter I’m finally putting it up…Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls I give you the Baby Chick/Easter shoot (and thank you to Providence for teaching me that great line!)!!!

Mike and I had so much fun working with all the families on this shoot!  It was hilarious to watch the kids with the chickies, and made for some great pictures!  Thank you to all of the families.  We had a blast working with you!  And a special thanks to our 6 baby chicks for being such good sports.  You guys rock.  (can you say that to chickens?  I guess that’s kinda weird.  Whatever).

You’ve gotta love this next one!  Jonah really got into the farming motif.  Such a “little man”!

What’s that saying about girls?  They’re full of sugar and spice and everything nice?  I think it should include giggles, bows, “hurrays” and Dora the Explorer.  Or at least it should for my niece.  The first time I saw her, she was just a babe…sleeping, crying, eating, those were her MOs.  Now, this little gal if full of life, beautiful, and a kick in the pants.  What a joy she is!

I’m sure you noticed in my last post about Avery that her parents have some stunning blue eyes.  It is true that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

This is one of my favorites from our time.  Mike and his brother were playing “1, 2, 3!” with Avery.  Ah, I wish I was small enough to still play that game!  I love the angle on this pic, but most of all I love the sunlight!  Well no, most of all I love my niece in it, then the sunlight.  Family first, then photography.

Yesterday was Avery’s 2nd Birthday.  That’s right, St. Paddy’s day.  Couldn’t be a better day for a Paterson!

Easter eggs and flowers

So the rain hasn’t been the only delay around our house.  Sorry for leaving you hanging last week on the blogging!  It was a bit crazy at the Paterson residence.  And it’s female resident being the chief culprit.

Going back to the rain though.  We rescheduled the spring Easter shoot for fear of rain.  I know there were some of  you that had wanted to do the shoot, but weren’t able to do.  Our new date is March 28th.  We will have a back up, so rain or shine, that shoot is gonna happen!  And I can’t tell you how excited I am for it.  I’m going to have my own roost of little chicks, as well as Easter eggs and basket.  It will be so much fun!  So, if you felt you had missed out this weekend, you are welcome on the 28th.  Space is limited though, so let me know soon if you are wanting a spot!

With Easter just around the corner, I wanted to give you a fun way to have pictures of your kiddos done.  I’m going to be setting up shop in a local pasture and will have either baby chicks or a bunny, as well as brightly colored Easter eggs.  I’m inviting all of you to do a mini shoot of your kids.  It will be about 30 minutes in front of the camera, with some great pictures to celebrate with.  They’ll make great little photo cards to send out to family and friends, as well as a cute way to remember this spring.

WHEN: March 13, 2010

COST: $50 (cost includes sitting, one 5×7 of your choosing, a set of 4 wallets, and rights to one jpg for printing cards)

WHAT DO I DO NOW?  Send me an email to reserve your spot!

I can’t wait to set this up with you guys!  It’s going to be a fun day!!!

(Scroll down to see pics from the day)

No matter how misleading the title, I must tell you I really like Peyton Manning.  I think he’s hilarious.  Ever see him on SNL?  Yeah, that sealed the deal for me. And the commercials he does?  hilarious.

But our guy’s already got one ring on his finger, and the Saints needed some lovin’.  I admire Drew Brees and his teammates for how they’ve supported and the community of New Orléans.  After all the pain the city has gone through, it’s pretty awesome for them to go from no Superbowl wins to being the kings.  So congrats Saints!

At half time me and the party’s kiddos went outside to mess around with the pig skin.   I know, crazy that I didn’t want to watch The Who, right?

This is the “Go Saints!’ face…

Shopping or football, who can decide?

Don’t knock him for grabbing the wrong ball for the day.  He looked good doing it.

“Two Forty two…HIKE!”

Aren’t these the coolest Nike shoes ever?  Why don’t they come in my size?

Congratulations again to the Saints, and great game Indy!

I believe that it had to be the coldest day of the year, or maybe even of all time.  Who really knows.  It was fridged, that’s all I knew for sure.  It was also the day of the Mitchell’s Christmas shoot, and little Emma was just a couple months old.  If you ever want to see a shoot done in a big hurry, put your family in freezing weather and have them take their coats off for a picture.  That will get you in and out quick.  And even though we were all in pain, we still got some great glimpses into this precious family’s life.

Don’t you just love the smile on this beauty?!

If you know the Mitchell’s, you know that Jesse is a ham.  I think that Samantha must have gotten the silly gene too.

This is one of my favorites.  You can see how much Tammie loves her girls in this shot!

This was when Samantha decided to make her big escape to the car.  Inwardly, I think we all were wishing we were in the car.  Actually, I think we were wishing that there was a Barista waiting for us with a mocha made with craft and care to our personal likings.  When you’re cold, every one should have a barista to wait on them.

This was shot afer the great escape, hence no smile from child number one.  That’s ok though.  She had done a great job!  And actually, I really like this picture.  There is something hilarious to me when kids have that blank expression.  Someone needs to find her barista.

And this is baby Emma.  She was such a doll!

It was wonderful working with you Mitchells!  You are always a joy!  Let’s just do Christmas pictures in July next year (In Hawaii.  With Baristas.)

Don’t get me wrong.  I was born in the Northwest, and most days my heart burst with the beauty that surrounds me.  And I actually love the rain.  I love it when I can curl up with a cup of coffee (yes, decaf.  Don’t worry, I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing) and reading or watching a movie.  I love it, except on the days when we’re trying to do an outdoor shoot.  On those days when it’s raining and I’ve got a little baby that needs her picture taken, I wish we could all jump on a plane and head to Hawaii.  That said, the weather didn’t harm us this day.  Don’t get me wrong.  It was fridged outside, but we just went inside.  I had never done a shoot at the Seattle Library before, but I thought it could be cool.  And thankfully, I was right!  Check out how chic Kennedi is.  She’s the best dressed baby in town!

Yeah, she knows how to work the camera.

I totally love this picture.  The color, the windows, and even though she’s crying, Kennedi looks cute too!

Another one of my favs…

Look at those eyes!  I love how clear they are!

So we didn’t have to go to Hawaii after all, and I’m still happily living in the Great Northwest.  For one more day.  And Kennedi, you are beautiful!  Thank you for another wonderful time with me and the camera!  I can’t wait until your one year shoot!
