Today is one of the best days in the world…it’s my husband’s birthday!  I can only wish that the women reading this are as loved and treasured as I am by my husband.  Mike, you are God’s greatest gift to me, and I love you.  Happy Birthday!!

(One of Mike and my Dad’s new favorite past times…I love this picture of Mike!  Fishing takes true concentration)

Stunningly beautiful, Ashley & Peter elegantly turned a day in Seattle into one of my favorite shoots.  They had elected to do a “Day After” shoot, where we could leisurely drive through a setting of their choice (today’s being Seattle) and take as many pictures as we could.

Congratulations you two.  I wish you all the happiness and love in your lives together!

Rain.  That was the forecast.  Nothing but rain.  I’m sure you’re thinking, “isn’t she in Seattle?”, but contrary to public opinion, it doesn’t rain all the time here.  Just on the days I have outdoor shoots.  :o)

I prayed all weekend, as I’m sure Ashley and Peter did, that we’d have a few minutes of sun to get some shots.  You ask for an inch, and God gives you a yard!  It was absolutely beautiful!  And as Peter and Ashley are quiet handsome themselves, it made for a wonderful day of photography.  Here’s one of my fav’s from the day.  Check back on Friday for the rest…

I’m sure some of you thought I dropped off the face of the earth with my lack of blogging.  Truth be told, I think I did.  :o)  Mike and I celebrated our 5th anniversary this last week, and my mind was all wrapped up in that.  Feet back on the ground, I can properly attend to my blogging duties.

This weekend I did a shoot for Auburn Regional Medical Center.  They are having a baby fair and hired me to take pictures for their brochure and billboard (yes, I’m going to have a picture on a billboard!!  I’m so excited!  Thank you Auburn Regional for the opportunity!).  The below pictures are not the “offical” pictures from the day, but ones we took before the actual shoot.

Here’s where you come in.  I’ve posted different styles for a few of the pictures and would love some feedback.  In the comments, I’d love it if you could let me know which you like out of the different series.  Also, vote for your over all favorite and I’ll send the parents a free 5×7 of the winning picture.  Thanks guys!

Okay, so that’s the end of the voting, but I thought some of these were super cute.  Here are the babies waiting for their picture to be taken…

To all the parents and baby models…Thanks for the privilege of working with each of you.  Your babies are beautiful, and it was a joy to capture some pictures of your children.

To Auburn Regional, thanks again for the opportunity to work with you.  I’m excited to be able to help promote your baby fair!

Headshots.  Gotta love ’em.  Most people don’t mind when you take a picture from a distance, but there’s something a little unnerving when the camera is right in your face.  This weekend’s headshots had nothing to worry about though.  Jan Decker, who provides makeup artistry services, hired me to shoot some models for her website.  Jan did a wonderful job with the makeup, and each model looked fabulous.  Check out a shot of each of them below.

I can remember the fluttering of butterfly wings in my stomach on every “first day of school”.  Although Summer was loved, it couldn’t compare to the affair with Fall and going back to school.  New clothes, new pens, new notebook, old friends, it was wonderful.  I thought of these pictures today because the look on Madison’s face at the playground reminded me of myself running around the school grounds.

Of course we needed some of her beautiful mom Jenae in there too!

Good luck to all the parents out there today!  I’m sure that Starbucks is going to see a boost in sales this morning.  :o)
